Location: Aldermaston, Berkshire, RG7

Salary: Up to £46,000 DOE per annum + Car Allowance

Hours: Week 1 Monday to Friday 07:45 to 16:30 (ends 16:15 Friday). Week 2 Monday to Thursday 07:45 to 16:30. Enjoy every other Friday off under the 9‑day working fortnight pattern.

Role Overview

Due to the high‑level security clearance required for this position, we can only accept British Nationals who have lived in the UK for a minimum of 10 years. You will provide Health, Safety, Environmental and Wellbeing advice to EMCOR UK’s largest defence account, ensuring that the contractual scope is delivered and complies with national and international standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the accounts combined Assurance audit plan by assisting in the delivery of internal safety & quality audits.
  • Be an active member of the Assurance team, providing inspiring leadership and developing a positive culture.
  • Support the development of the Assurance strategy and objectives for the contract.
  • Stay current with legislation and EMCOR UK processes and procedures.
  • Support the continued accreditation to ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 18001.
  • Help develop and roll out inclusive strategies, policies and guidelines that embrace mental and physical wellbeing.
  • Produce regular reports from data metrics for Health, Safety, Quality, Environment and Wellbeing performance for both internal and external audiences.
  • Support subcontractor compliance and ensure they meet site HSQE requirements.
  • Assist in the management of contract deliverables.
  • Update and manage the site‑based aspects and impacts register, including action management.
  • Create and own the Environmental audit schedule implementation and monitoring.
  • Engage with internal and external key stakeholders, including client, supply chain partners, regulatory authorities, industry bodies and colleagues throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide environmental input to operational teams from planning through completion, offering technical and specialist guidance to support proactive planning and implementation of standards. Take appropriate action where standards are not met.
  • Utilise environmental performance KPIs to review performance and drive continual improvement.
  • Contribute to continual improvement to unlock gains in environmental performance and mitigate risks to EMCOR UK arising from environmental issues.
Required Qualifications
  • Qualified to NEBOSH Diploma / NVQ5 in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • CMIOSH or working towards this qualification is an advantage.
  • PIEMA or working towards this qualification is an advantage.
  • Thorough knowledge of HSQE systems and processes that meet ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, able to be empathetic and understanding, approaching sensitive subjects with discretion, tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to establish effective, positive relationships with a wide variety of internal, customer and supplier audiences at all levels.
  • Ability to positively resolve customer problems.
  • Advanced and proven knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and understanding of SharePoint.
  • Strong interpersonal, team‑working, decision‑making and communication skills.
