Test Defect Manager

Role Overview

• Location: Aldermaston (Hybrid)
• Package: Up to £600 per day (contract to Jan 2027)

• Taking full ownership of the defect management process from the start of SIT
• Monitoring defect status, severity and priority to keep delivery on track
• Producing and distributing regular reporting and KPIs across stakeholders
• Acting as the central point of contact between testing, development and business teams
• Leading triage sessions and War Rooms to drive timely resolution of critical issues
• Analysing defect trends, aged items and turnaround times to highlight risks and improvements
• Supporting root cause analysis and preventive action planning
• Ensuring defects are clearly documented with reproducible steps and supporting evidence
• Feeding lessons learned back into the wider testing and delivery process

• Strong experience owning end-to-end defect management within large programmes
• Confident running triage meetings and defect War Rooms in high-pressure environments
• Deep understanding of SIT and structured testing life cycles
• Hands-on experience with defect tracking and reporting tools
• Ability to translate technical defect detail into clear, business-friendly communication
• Strong analytical skills with experience tracking KPIs and defect metrics
• Collaborative approach, working closely with QA, development and business stakeholders

• Long-term contract on a high-profile transformation programme
• Exposure to senior stakeholders across testing, technology and business teams
