Commercial Finance Manager
We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager with strong commercial acumen and proven business partnering skills. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic organisation operating in a highly specialised research and services environment, supporting global clients across multiple sectors.
Role OverviewThe Finance Manager will play a pivotal role in driving financial performance and supporting strategic decision-making. Working closely with senior leadership, operational teams, and business development, you will provide insight, analysis, and governance to enable sustainable growth and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a trusted business partner to senior management and operational teams, influencing decisions that enhance profitability and growth.
- Lead the development and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Manage monthly management accounts and statutory reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.
- Deliver clear, actionable financial analysis to support pricing strategies, project profitability, and investment decisions.
- Oversee project costing, bid evaluations, and scenario modelling for commercial opportunities.
- Liaise with external stakeholders including auditors and funding bodies when required.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis.
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong experience in commercial finance and business partnering.
- Demonstrated ability to influence operational and commercial decisions through insightful analysis.
- Solid understanding of project-based revenue recognition, cost control, and profitability analysis within service-driven or research-focused sectors.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling capabilities.
- Experience with modern ERP systems (e.g., Business Central, Net Suite, SAP) is desirable.
