As a Security Officer - Gatehouse Control in Alcoa, TN

As a Part-Time Security Officer, you can build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. As an Allied Universal Access Control Officer at a busy food and beverage distribution location, you will help manage site access by verifying credentials, greeting associates and visitors, and directing traffic to the right check-in points.

You will monitor entry areas, watch for unusual activity, and communicate clearly with teams to support smooth operations. Bring an agile, reliable, and innovative mindset, acting with integrity and teamwork in every interaction.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $15.00 / Hour

Job Schedule: Sat 05:00 AM – 05:00 PM;
Sun 05:00 AM – 05:00 PM

What Youully Do
  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access to the location by verifying identification, confirming authorization, and directing visitors, contractors, and vendors to the appropriate check-in process.
  • Process visitor registration, issue temporary credentials when authorized, and maintain accurate entry and exit logs.
  • Screen inbound and outbound deliveries by confirming shipping documentation, coordinating with receiving staff, and controlling access to loading dock and yard areas.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, access control panels, and/or intercom systems, and report irregular activity according to site procedures.
  • Perform entrance and perimeter checks as assigned to help to deter unauthorized entry and/or unauthorized activity.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, fire alarms, and disruptive behavior, and notify the appropriate internal and external resources.
  • Conduct routine documentation and reporting, including incident reports, activity logs, and shift pass-down notes.
  • Support food and beverage operations by helping to manage traffic flow for employees, visitors, and commercial vehicles during peak arrival, shipping, and receiving periods.
  • Enforce site rules related to parking, restricted areas, and controlled product zones, and escalate concerns through the chain of command.
  • Communicate professionally with Allied Universal leadership and site management regarding access issues, policy questions, and operational impacts.
  • Participate in required training and follow post orders, including use of radios, badge systems, and other security-related technology.
Minimum Requirements
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
