Overview
Compliance Splst — Civil Rights Compliance Specialist and Intake Assistant. The University of New Mexico’s Office of Compliance, Ethics, and Equal Opportunity (CEEO) seeks a Compliance Specialist to support the civil rights investigative and grievance processes as of concern include Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Affirmative Action, Title IX, Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and other civil rights laws that protect individuals in a diverse community.
The candidate must have strong communication skills, be able to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies, be self-motivated, a team player, and able to multi-task while handling confidential material professionally. The ability to be neutral and conduct interviews with a trauma-informed approach is crucial.

This is a temporary position that is expected to last for one year, continued employment contingent upon department funding

Responsibilities- Support civil rights investigations and grievance processes related to EEO, Affirmative Action, Title IX, Title VII, and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
- Conduct interviews with stakeholders in a trauma-informed, neutral manner.
- Handle confidential information professionally and with discretion.
- Assist in case management, data collection, documentation, and reporting to ensure timely and accurate processing of matters.
- Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Completed degrees from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.
- Significant experience interviewing parties and investigating concerns related to discrimination, failure to accommodate, Title IX, sexual harassment, or sexual assault.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with time-sensitive deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Legal knowledge, including paralegal or JD coursework.
