That's our story too! Goodwill Industries of New Mexico is looking for a Social Services Coordinator to assist low-income seniors in obtaining employment training and reaching their employment goals. This opportunity will allow you to work one on one with individuals 55+ in your community, providing employment skills training, community advocacy and more.

The position is temporary, through June 30, 2026, overseeing services in the Metro Albuquerque area.
Starts at $20.00/hour, negotiable depending on experience, guaranteed 38 hours a week.
Responsibilities- Adherence to the attendance and punctuality policies of Goodwill.
- Exhibit excellent customer service skills as related to your position.
- Develop individual employment plans and job search plan to assist person served in eventual community employment; assist persons served in preparing for and carrying out job interviews.
- Coordinate placement into a host agency; facilitate the host agency training and hiring process and coordinate a service plan with funding agency.
- Provide training to host agencies and co-workers working with program participants.
- Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
- Travel as required based on caseload, scope of work.
- Contact participants and perform initial intake interview to identify personal strengths, needs, financial status, and barriers; evaluate program eligibility based on entrance criteria.
- Orient participants to Goodwill Industries of NM (GINM) policies and procedures including rights and responsibilities of the person served, GINM's mission, programs and services, grievance procedures and confidentiality policies and procedures.
- Refer persons served to other support services as needed, such as medical evaluation and treatment, and social services.
- Conduct ongoing assessments to determine if the services accessed are meeting or have adequately met the person's served needs.
- Acquire Host Agencies; build and maintain collaborative relationships with community agencies.
- Track and document person's served activities in relation to program; maintain records containing pertinent, accurate and current information.
- Complete all required documentation within designated time frames including but not limited to case notes, program documentation and required reporting.
- Oversee participants in their assigned areas (communities) and ensure the program is being carried out in compliance with policies, procedures and contract guidelines/regulations.
- Attend staff meetings; provide verbal communication on participants and receive new referrals.
- Maintain standards and practice in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and requirements, as well as professional standards.
- Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops.
- Ensure HIPAA compliance.
- Responsible for the safety of all persons served under your supervision.
- Implement CARF standards into all programs and follow professional ethics as set in the Code of Conduct/Business Ethics policy.
- Maintain confidentiality of all privileged information.
- Knowledge of organizational practices, policies and procedures and compliance with the same.
