The Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court is recruiting for a full‑time, permanent HVAC Maintenance Worker (#‑24400) in the Facilities Management Division in Albuquerque, NM.

Essential Tasks:
The HVAC Maintenance Worker is responsible for diagnosing HVAC problems and deficiencies, planning and overseeing the care of HVAC systems and associated building equipment, coordinating activities of private HVAC contract personnel and vendors, maintaining lighting control systems, key cabinets, and issuing keys. The worker recommends and implements changes in facility operations, identifies energy conservation opportunities, schedules HVAC workflow, maintains inventory control of supplies and equipment, performs services and repairs on mechanical systems, inspects buildings and equipment to determine maintenance schedules, prepares reports, provides recommendations for modifications and upgrades, assists with the preparation of the annual budget and other financial reports, and may perform other duties as assigned.

Competencies / Qualifications

The successful applicant should demonstrate knowledge of mechanical systems, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, heating and refrigeration systems, control systems, building blueprints and sketches, compressors, condensers, computer‑controlled lighting systems, city and state building codes, OSHA regulations, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements, budgeting and procurement, plumbing and electrical functions, and mechanical tools.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Work is performed in an office, court setting, or outside elements. A valid driver's license and travel may be required. The assigned schedule may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime. The employee must interact positively with co‑workers, clients, the public, judges, and justices. Physical demands include reaching forward, lifting, carrying, moving furniture and equipment, pushing or pulling up to 25 pounds, performing repetitious hand or arm motions, and regularly sitting, standing, walking or kneeling.

The employee may be expected to climb a ladder, crawl on the floor, work in confined spaces, and may be exposed to inclement weather, fluctuating building temperatures, loud noises, and/or toxic fumes associated with hazardous materials.
