This is a great job with flexibility! We are looking for an experienced Kitchen and closet measure tech. This position is responsible for precise measurement of rooms, walls, and other relevant areas to determine cabinet placement, custom doors, drawers and closets. This person must be able to measure accurately an entire existing kitchen including all door and drawer openings, rails and stiles, appliances, countertops and anything relevant to blueprinting the kitchen or closets.
Ensuring that measurements are accurate and consistent to avoid errors during ordering installation Measuring for custom or standard cabinet installations. This is a 1099 position. Pay is 2% of the contract price of the cabinet portion and 1% of the closet contract price, pre-tax. You must have your own vehicle and provide your own gas. We pay mileage for out of town measures, hotel and per diem for food.
This position requres travel around the state of New Mexico and to El Paso, TX.
- Understanding and interpreting blueprints and drawings to accurately plan cabinet installations.
- Identifying specific dimensions, layouts, and specifications from blueprints.
- Communicating clearly with clients, designers, and contractors to discuss project requirements and measurements.
- Coordinating with other tradespeople to ensure smooth and timely installations.
- Identifying and resolving any potential issues or discrepancies during the measurement process.
- Troubleshooting installation problems and finding solutions.
- Assisting with cabinet installation, including measuring, marking, and preparing for installation.
- Ensuring that cabinets are installed accurately and securely.
- Using measuring tools, such as tape measures, laser levels, and other tools to ensure accuracy.
- Familiarity with power tools and hand tools used in cabinet installation.
- Ensuring that all work meets quality standards and specifications
- Performing inspections of contracted work.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
Prior experience in cabinet installation or meausuring or a related field is often preferred. - Technical
Skills:
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings. - Ability to use measuring tools and equipment accurately.
- Knowledge of cabinet installation techniques and best practices.
- Communication
Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients, designers, and contractors. - Physical Stamina:
Ability to lift lightly and be able to climb a ladder as needed to measure. - Attention to Detail:
Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate measurements and installations. - Problem-Solving
Skills:
Ability to identify and resolve problems efficiently. - Safety Awareness:
Knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines.
