Job Summary
:
The apprenticeship will develop the knowledge and skills in the non-technical maintenance of plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilating, and/or air conditioning equipment, and other related facilities trades at a level not requiring formal licensure but with direct supervision and instruction of a Facilities Support Technician I or above. Must be insurable by Tri Core’s insurance carrier.
- Assists with and learns to perform preventive maintenance on plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems and related components.
- Assists with and learns to repair plumbing, electrical, mechanical and related systems.
- Assists with and learns to repair and maintain facilities structures; to perform minor repairs to building plumbing, electrical systems, door hardware, fire, life and safety protection equipment/systems; to conduct structural inspections for safety.
- Assists with and learns routine sheetrock/drywall installation and/or repair, cabinet and counter top replacement, painting and texturing, and door and hardware installation; paint interior and exterior finishes, as appropriate.
- Perform general maintenance, custodial, and trash removal tasks.
- Assists with and learns to document facilities maintenance requirements; maintain appropriate records of work performed.
- Perform snow removal/ice melt as required.
- Handle hazardous materials and wastes in accordance with safety procedures and regulations. Specific training requirements are documented in Tri Core’s Waste Management Plan, SAF-011.

- Must be insurable by Tri Core’s insurance carrier.
- Understanding of maintenance practices is desirable.
Prove immunity to Hepatitis B or be immunized or sign a waiver refusing hepatitis immunization. Provide documentation of a PPD test conducted not more than 90 days prior to date of hire or have a PPD test conducted.
