The Operator Telecom Construction Equipment can operate a variety of equipment, used in installation/repair/maintenance activities associated with underground construction or utilities, in a safe and effective manner.

- Safely operate drill equipment on job sites, including Directional Drill, Backhoe/Excavator, Skid Steer, Tractor Trailer (Moving Equipment/Haul Water), Vacuum Truck/Trailer
- Restore and/or landscape disturbed areas of the job site
- Develop and maintain a bore schedule
- Be responsible for site set‑up and clean‑up
- Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment on truck
- Participate in new site Job Safety Analysis (JSA) before starting construction
- Set up safety perimeter using signage, cones, safety barriers, and, when required, flag traffic
- Perform work in all weather conditions
- Other duties as assigned
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Authorization to work in the United States for this company
- Pass a background check and company drug screening
- Valid standard Driver’s License or Class A Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement
- Maintain a safe work environment and an acceptable MVR record as deemed by the company
- High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
- Experience running heavy equipment preferred
- Experience with drill set‑up and design processes preferred
- Able to work in all weather conditions
- Lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed, with or without assistance
- Work overtime, after hours, on weekends, for emergencies or on‑call
- Proficiently use locators to safely identify utilities
- Read and understand work orders, safety rules, and operating instructions
- Climb up and down ladders, machinery, and other objects
- Understand vision requirements for this job (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception)
- Exposure to dust, fumes, airborne pathogens, toxic or corrosive chemicals, moving machinery parts, and pieces may occur; remote work may be required; long driving and sitting will be required
- Attend and pass all company required training as needed
- Regular and timely attendance is essential
- Stand, crouch, sit, bend, use hands and fingers to handle or feel and reach with arms to spaces both high and low
- Stand, walk, climb, balance, crawl, crouch, lift, hold or stoop while on shift
- Noise level in the work environment is moderate
- Expose to extreme heat and cold temperatures; inclement weather such as rain, snow, sleet, dust, and adverse driving conditions (wet roads, icy roads, fog)
The operator hourly wage range is $20.00 – $35.00, depending on experience.
