Journeyman Electrician

Summary/Objective

Experienced electrician who undertakes a variety of tasks relating to setting up and maintaining electrical infrastructure. The role involves installing electrical wiring in buildings and on poles, troubleshooting malfunctions and blackouts, and repairing appliances. Because of the high risk involved, electricians must be responsible individuals who prioritize safety precautions. The ideal candidate has experience with a range of electrical devices and systems and is capable of producing and maintaining well‑functioning electrical connections to minimize accidents and maximize usability of electricity across all facilities.

• Executing plans of electrical wiring for well‑functioning lighting, intercom, and other electrical systems.
• Installing electrical apparatus, fixtures, and equipment for alarm and other systems.
• Installing safety and distribution components (e.g., switches, resistors, circuit‑breaker panels).
• Connecting wiring in electrical circuits and networks to ensure component compatibility.
• Preparing and assembling conduits and connecting wiring through them.
• Preventing breakdowns by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, and cleaning circuits.
• Performing effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repairing or substituting damaged units.
• Proven experience as an electrician.
• Experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical systems.
• Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g., wire strippers, voltmeter) and interpret electrical drawings and blueprints.
• Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.
• Excellent critical thinking and problem‑solving ability.
• Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts and overnight.
• Diploma in relevant vocational training or a successfully completed apprenticeship as an electrician.
• Valid license to practice the profession.

• Working knowledge of the Safety Plan and Safety Procedures.
• Proven track record for accomplishing construction work activities.
• Working knowledge of construction phases.

• Advanced knowledge of general construction, especially electrical/mechanical systems.
