We are excited to share the opportunity for Licensed Journeyman Electricians to join our team. These opportunities require a current NM Electrician License.

As a Journeyman Electrician, you will contribute by installing and repairing wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatuses, and distribution equipment.

Your experience with the following items will drive your success in this role:

• Planning new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials
• Providing access for future maintenance, and avoiding unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes
• Preparing sketches showing the location of wiring and equipment, or following diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of walls, ceilings, and flooring
• Measuring, cutting, bending, threading, assembling, and installing electrical conduit, using tools such as band saws, pipe threaders, and conduit benders
• Pulling wiring through conduit
• Splicing wire by stripping insulation, twisting wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps
• Connecting wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment using hand tools
• Installing distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels, fastening with screws or bolts
• Connecting power cables to equipment like transformers, switch gear, and motors, and installing grounding leads
• Testing circuit continuity with instruments like ohmmeters, voltmeters, and ammeters
• Observing functioning of installed equipment to identify hazards and needed adjustments
• Repairing faulty equipment
• Training lower-level employees on installation and operation methods
• Following safety rules

Physical Requirements

Work involves exposure to construction environments with temperature extremes, dust, fumes, smoke, hazardous substances, and loud noises. Up to 70% of the job may include heavy physical work, lifting 50 to 100 pounds, climbing ladders, scaffolds, or aerial lifts, and working in awkward or confined spaces for extended periods.

The role requires use of hands, arms, shoulders, upper and lower back, visual acuity, and depth perception. Pulmonary capacity must support respirator use if needed.
