Security Supervisor
The Security Supervisor at Laguna Development Corporation (LDC) is responsible for overseeing all security operations and personnel to ensure the safety and protection of LDC properties, patrons, staff, and assets in compliance with applicable laws, gaming regulations, and corporate policies. The role requires adherence to LDC core values and professional standards, acting as a role model, maintaining punctual attendance, and fostering positive relationships with guests and coworkers.
Core supervisory duties include directing and scheduling security officers, enforcing departmental policies and tribal/state/federal gaming regulations, conducting investigations, reviewing violations, monitoring alarms and safety systems, ensuring authorized access and age compliance, and coordinating escorts for patrons, staff, and secure money transfers. The supervisor responds to emergencies and incident command situations, communicates via radio/telephone, prepares detailed activity and incident reports, administers reasonable-suspicion drug testing, and may testify in court.
Additional responsibilities include guest service engagement, knowledge of property services and events, participation in leadership development programs (SDLS and MCP), and performing assigned duties under pressure, including irregular hours, weekends, and holidays.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of law enforcement or security experience with demonstrated leadership ability. Required certifications include First Aid, CPR, AED, Defensive Driving, Defensive Tactics, Crime Scene Investigation, New Mexico Alcohol Servers Permit, Title 31 compliance, and gaming licensure through the Pueblo of Laguna Gaming Control Board, along with a valid driver’s license and successful pre-employment drug/alcohol screening;
ongoing urine analysis certification and management training must be maintained. The role demands proficiency with basic computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and security equipment such as radios, Key watcher, and Stream Manager surveillance systems, as well as the ability to drive vehicles. Physically, the job requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, hearing, talking, and hand use (51–100% of time); regular bending, climbing, kneeling, reaching, and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50+ lbs (25–50%);
and occasional crawling (1–24%). Mentally, it requires sustained problem-solving, planning, decision-making, and data interpretation (51–100%). Supervisory authority includes hiring, training, scheduling, disciplining, evaluating, and terminating staff. Work occurs both indoors and outdoors with frequent loud‑noise exposure.
