Sales Account Associate (Entry Level)
KOAT, the ABC affiliate in Albuquerque, NM, is looking for a Sales Account Associate. This entry-level position is part of a sales training program designed to develop candidates into Sales Account Executives. Your primary focus will be to learn all aspects of local television sales while leveraging your natural sales abilities. All sales team members, under the guidance of the Local Sales Manager, will contribute to your training and success.
You will report to the General Sales Manager.
Training
- Comprehensive 9-12 month training program with ongoing career development opportunities through KOAT
- Learn industry-leading communication and sales techniques
- Train with top sales producers
- Develop skills in software platforms such as Wide Orbit Traffic, Media Sales, Media Monitors, and Matrix
- Work with Nielsen research data
- Participate in roleplays and presentation practices
Responsibilities
Tasks during training include:
- Assist in developing sales proposals, advertising packages, and client presentations
- Create marketing materials to support the sales department
- Prepare proposals based on account executive requests
- Communicate with internal teams (sales, production, finance) and external clients regarding campaign performance and delivery
- Enter and maintain orders, including electronic transfers and updates in Wide Orbit
- Manage the sales database
Requirements
- Ability to handle the stresses and pressures of time-sensitive projects
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent social, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Focused and organized
- Proficient in Excel, capable of maintaining complex spreadsheets
- Ambitious with a goal to become a media sales account executive within 9-12 months
- Military experience will be considered
