Parking Officer
Parking and Transportation Services (PATS) is seeking a detail-oriented individual with strong customer service skills to serve as a Parking Enforcement Officer. This position requires a reliable individual who can consistently report to work as scheduled and fulfill assigned shifts. The role involves providing parking and campus information, communicating and enforcing parking rules and regulations, and ensuring a safe and organized parking environment across UNM campuses.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, thrive in public-facing roles, and be comfortable working outdoors in a physically active environment. This individual must be a dependable team player and demonstrate the ability to understand and apply policies, procedures, and regulations relevant to the position.

Key Responsibilities- ავად communicate parking regulations and campus information effectively to students, staff, faculty, and visitors.
- patrol parking lots and structures to ensure compliance with parking rules and report unsafe conditions.
- issue citations for parking violations, apply vehicle boots, and coordinate towing services when necessary.
- support special event parking operations, including traffic and crowd control activities.
- demonstrated reliability, including retrouvé ability to report to work as scheduled and maintain consistent attendance.
- ability to work outdoors, standing and/or walking for at least 8 hours per day.
- availability to work evenings and weekends.
- strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- capability to read, interpret, and apply policies, procedures, and regulations.
- possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license is a requirement for this job.
- all regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the CWA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
High School Diploma or GED; no previous experience required. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.
