Line Cook

Overview

The Downs Racetrack and Casino is looking for a Line Cook to join our team. The Line Cook accurately and efficiently cooks meats, fish, vegetables, soups and other food products, and prepares and portions food prior to cooking. The Line Cook performs plating and garnishing, handles final plate presentation, and prepares appropriate garnishes for all plates. The Line Cook stays true to the department and food standards established by the Executive Chef.

• Cook meats, fish, vegetables, soups and other food products accurately and efficiently.
• Prepare and portion ingredients prior to cooking.
• Plate and garnish cooked items and prepare appropriate garnishes for all plates.
• Adhere to department and food standards established by the Executive Chef.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Two years of recent equivalent experience highly preferred.
