Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced PCU RN with a NM or compact state license, who can work night shifts and pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia test.

• Position is in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes adult telemetry/progressive care cases with an 18-plus bed unit
• Night shifts are required, with potential weekends and call as needed
• Floating between departments and local locations within 20 miles is required
• Epic EMR is used;
  Epic experience is preferred
• Direct patient care responsibilities include assessment, planning, intervention, and care evaluation for assigned patients
• Coordination of care with interdisciplinary team and patient/family engagement is expected
• Administers medications and treatments per physician orders and protocols
• Responsible for clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
• Applicants must not have been a permanent staff member within the last year to be reconsidered as a traveler
• Applicants must live at least 50 miles from the facility; locals are not accepted
• First day orientation includes the required BCA test
• Holiday, weekend, and call coverage may be expected per unit needs

• Active NM or compact RN license required
• Minimum of two years current experience in an 18-plus bed telemetry or PCU setting
• Must have completed at least one 13-week travel assignment
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
• Must successfully pass onsite Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test during orientation with one retest opportunity
• NIHSS certification preferred
