Travel Registered Nurse – Hospice

We’re looking for a Hospice RN – Regional Support to join our team. In this dynamic role, you’ll provide direct care to patients and support to families while also serving as a floating clinician—temporarily assigned to different hospice branches based on census needs or staffing gaps.

• Deliver high‑quality, compassionate nursing care for hospice patients.
• Manage and implement individualized plans of care.
• Support and lead interdisciplinary team members (LPNs, CNAs, HHAs, etc.).
• Assess and address patients’ physical, emotional, spiritual, and environmental needs.
• Accurately document all care provided and ensure compliance with hospice protocols.
• Educate families and caregivers on care instructions, medications, and safety.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and provide after‑hours care as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, referral sources, and the care team.
• Assist with referrals, regulatory documentation, and payer compliance.
• Travel to various Gentiva hospice locations as assigned to fill urgent needs.

This role typically follows a Monday–Friday schedule, with occasional on‑call responsibilities. Travel is required and may include:

• Overnight travel required to cities within a 100‑mile radius.
• Frequent overnight travel to multiple states is required.
• Regional travel with overnight stays based on assignment needs.

A company fleet car is provided for eligible employees.

• Current, unencumbered RN license in the state of employment.
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience (hospice, home health, acute care, long‑term care, oncology or other high acuity setting).
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.

• Hospice and end‑of‑life nursing experience.
• Skilled in clinical assessments and compassionate communication.
• Strong critical thinking, flexibility, and problem‑solving skills.
• Comfortable working in varied environments with shifting needs.
• Proficient in documentation and electronic health records.
• Calm and supportive in crisis situations; skilled at family engagement.
