Full-time, 0.9 FTE, Not exempt, 12-hour days shift

Responsibilities

The Neuro Step Down Unit is hiring a charge nurse (RN) to join their dedicated team of high-performing nurses that provide exceptional patient care within their 29-bed unit. Charge RN will work under the direction of the Nursing Director, works with the Department RN Manager and RN Assistant Manager as a part of the management/leadership team to provide clinical and operational shift supervision of care processes which includes patient flow, exceptional care experiences, quality processes, patient safety, and direction of unit staff in designated service area(s).

May provide direct patient care. This unit is highly specialized neuro Step-Down, dedicated to the special care required for patients who are recovering from neurosurgery, or neurological injuries – to include psych patients. Joint Commission-Accredited Primary Step-Down.

Qualifications
  • Minimum one year of nursing experience
  • Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited academic nursing program (conditional status may be granted by system CNO)
  • State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License
  • BLS certification required at time of hire
  • ACLS required
  • Specialty Certifications in area of practice preferred: CDS Inpatient, Progressive & Critical Care Units: ACLS, Emergency Departments: ACLS, PALS, Pediatrics / PICU: PALS, Newborn Nursery / Mother-Baby Care / NICU: NRP, Family Birthing Center: NRP and Fetal Monitoring; permanent charge requires ACLS in addition to others;
    Pre-op / Operating Room / PACU: ACLS, PALS;
    Oncology Chemotherapy certification
