Certification Details
- Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift.
- Ensures safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care of patients.
- Provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses.
- Coordinates patient care through collaboration with the patient/family and healthcare team.
- Initiates, utilizes, and documents appropriate protocols and standards of care.
- Administers medication and treatments as prescribed by physician or standard protocols and documents according to policy.
- Identifies and meets patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout the episode of care.
- Assumes responsibility for the clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel.
- Collaborates with ancillary teams and non-licensed assistive personnel.
- Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required.
- Selected candidates must successfully pass a BCA (Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia) test before starting assignment; one retest allowed, second failure results in contract cancellation.
Job Details
- Two (2) years current experience required in an 18-plus bed telemetry/progressive care unit.
- Must be a team player, flexible, and accustomed to fast paced environment.
- Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment.
- Required
Education:
Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN). - Required Certifications & Licensure:
State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License, BLS, ACLS certifications. - BLS and ACLS must be completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.
