• Adheres to the LPN scope of practice by contributing to the assessment of the health status of individuals, families and communities.
• Delivers direct patient care, including administering treatments as prescribed, assisting nurses and physicians with various procedures, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken and patient responses.
• Administers prescribed medications, including those given through established parenteral/intravenous infusions as prescribed by physician or standard protocols, and documents according to policy.
• Documents and reports patient condition, care delivery and post‑procedure follow‑up. Assesses changes in patient condition and reports to nurse and physician as needed.
• Incorporates nursing activities that create a compassionate, supportive and therapeutic environment for patients and staff with the aim of promoting comfort and healing.
• Applies Exceptional Patient Experience principles and incorporates them into care interactions.

• High School Diploma or GED
• Practical Nursing formal education approved by the NM Board of Nursing
• Licensed Practical Nurse—NM
• BLS required
• PDS IV Certification course (within orientation period)
• Basic Cardiac Arrhythmias (BCA) for areas where cardiac telemetry monitoring is used (prior to ACLS)
• ACLS (within 6 months of being hired) for areas where required

• High School Diploma or GED (essential)
• Licensed Practical Nurse—NM (essential)
• Current BLS required (essential)
