Progressive Care units include Acute Medical Step‑Down, Cardiac Step‑Down, and Neuro Step‑Down. In Progressive Care, there are opportunities for RNs to gain leadership experience through Preceptor, Clinical Practice Leader, Relief Charge and Quality Improvement roles.

The Acute Medical Step‑Down unit at Presbyterian Hospital provides care for high acuity patients within a culture that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and mutual respect.

Cardiac ICU Step Down is comprised of 2 units totaling 50 beds. This unit provides patient‑focused, specialized care to patients requiring telemetry monitoring for various cardiovascular disorders, including cardiac arrhythmias and heart failure. Patients recovering from myocardial infarction, coronary intervention, and electrophysiology procedures are also cared for on this unit. The Cardiac Progressive Units provide quality care through a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach.
