LPN Qualifications & Requirements

• Active and unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license (New Mexico or compact state)
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar healthcare setting
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to quickly adapt to new clinical environments

LPN Responsibilities in Long-Term Care

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to residents in a long-term care facility
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
• Monitor, assess, and document residents’ health status and progress
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Assist residents with daily living activities and promote their overall well-being
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with facility policies and state regulations
