Overview:

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU ) is seeking an experienced RN to join the team at Presbyterian Hospital Downtown. In this role you will provide specialized nursing care to critically ill infants, children, and adolescents in a high-acuity hospital setting. This role involves continuous monitoring, administering treatments, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for pediatric patients.

Qualifications:
  • Associate Degree in Nursing
  • State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License
  • BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • Direct experience preferred
Responsibilities:
  • Monitor critically ill pediatric patients and respond to changes in condition swiftly and effectively.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV infusions, ventilator support, and emergency interventions.
  • Collaborate with physicians and specialists to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Provide emotional support and education to families during stressful and uncertain times.
  • Document patient care accurately and timely in electronic health records (EHR).
  • Operate and troubleshoot advanced medical equipment such as ventilators, infusion pumps, and monitors.
  • Maintain infection control standards and ensure a safe, clean environment for patients.
