Responsibilities

• Lead teams who oversee planting, education, monitoring, development & admin programs
• Maintain compliance with government regulations & reporting
• Advance our mission, long-term sustainability & growth
• Lead hiring efforts
• Maintain professional relationships with donors, partners & volunteers
• Ensure compliance with all legal contracts
• Ensure appropriate insurance coverage
• Act as liaison between staff & Board
• Make monetary decisions in accordance with financial policies

• Support stellar staff who make TreeNM a premier nonprofit in NM
• Ensure accurate financial records, incl contributions requiring ack. for tax purposes
• Oversee bank & investment accounts
• Oversee audit activities
• Oversee IT & security
• Oversee maintenance of corporate records
• Evaluate performance of staff
• Advise the Board of changes to staff
• Implement improvements in procedures & organization
• Recommend policies to meet changing conditions
• Facilitate collaborative strategic planning meetings

• Min 5 years experience of service-oriented oversight of nonprofit & capital campaigns
• Understands non-profit reporting & audit process
• Can sign an I-9
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
• Experience with environmental movement; passionate about trees
• Committed to DEI
• Strong understanding of NM cultures, economy & politics
• Experience in program development
• Able to work outside for 5-7 hours at a time; can lift 30 lbs periodically
• Open to travel around NM to outreach locations

$70,000-$80,000 (commensurate with experience)
