The Albuquerque Academy Racquet Center is seeking an energetic, experienced, and highly organized individual for the position of Assistant Director of Racquet Sports. This is a full‑time (a minimum of 40 hours per week), year‑round, exempt position with a base pay plus the expectation of additional compensation earned for on‑court teaching. The position reports directly to the Director of Racquet Sports and serves in a leadership capacity, responsible for supporting the overall administration and development, management, and delivery of high‑quality racquet sports programs (tennis and pickleball) for players of all ages and skill levels, including on‑court group and private instruction.

EssentialFunctions Leadership & Program Administration
- Assume program administration responsibilities, including but not limited to managing program enrollment, court scheduling, and budget support (monitoring expenses, tracking revenue) as assigned by the Director.
- Oversee scheduling, management, and provide on‑site supervision of USTA‑sanctioned tournament events and USTA Coaching Education Center workshops.
- Serve as the on‑site manager in the absence of the Director of Racquet Sports, overseeing daily operations, staff, and the management of events as assigned by the Director.
- Assist in developing and managing a comprehensive calendar of clinics, leagues, tournaments, camps, and social events.
- Assist in the daily management of facility maintenance by ensuring courts, facilities, and equipment are well‑maintained, safe, and clean, coordinating with Academy maintenance staff, as needed.
- Assist in the recruitment, training, and supervision of racquet sports staff, helping to ensure a positive, professional, and energized team culture.
- Collaborate with the Director on strategic planning, financial oversight, and meeting departmental goals.
- Actively promote and support member participation through personal engagement, communication, and marketing efforts, ensuring programming meets the diverse needs of the community.
- Serve actively as a member of the broader auxiliary programs team, including participating in external relations group meetings as assigned by the Director.
- Foster and maintain a culture of mutual respect, equitable practice, and joy within the Racquet Center community.
- Support the school and its mission, always maintaining a high degree of professionalism, cultural competence, and the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across differences.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Racquet Sports.
- Develop and implement lesson plans and curricula tailored to the needs and skill levels of students and conduct player evaluations to assess skill level and development.
- Participate in community outreach to attract new players and members, including those from underserved communities, in conjunction with the Academy’s Beyond the Baseline National Junior Tennis and Learning chapter (NJTL).
