** Position Summary
** This position is responsible for ensuring that grants and critical proposals are aligned with CNM’s Strategic Direction, goals, and objectives while considering relationships between CNM, CNM Foundation, CNM Ingenuity, and local businesses, nonprofit organizations, and city, state, and federal government. This position serves as lead internal consultant to college faculty, administrators, and executives on grant and critical proposal development. The Director of Grants Management & Critical Proposals is responsible for overseeing the grants management process and leading the development of high-priority proposals for funding.
This role will ensure compliance with grant requirements, manage the grant application and reporting process, and collaborate with various stakeholders to develop compelling proposals.
** Duties & Responsibilities
*** Directs, leads, and manages staff, which includes prioritizing, and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; ensuring employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy, and safe working environment; and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
* Directs the activities of the Grant Management Office, establishing policies and procedures for pre-award grant development and post-award grant reporting and compliance.
* Serves on the President’s Senior Leadership Team.
* Manages the budget and budget requests for the Grant Management Office.
* Communicates grant-seeking priorities aligned with strategic planning goals to the Senior Leadership Team and College.
* Acts as an internal resource/expert regarding grant development trends, models, and best practices; applies relevant information to grant development efforts; anticipates grant development needs and positions the department, College, CNM Foundation, and CNM Ingenuity to respond.
* Collaborates with CNM’s Office of Data Strategy to support data-driven decision-making regarding grant funding opportunities and required evaluations and outcomes.
* Collaborates with the Budget Office to integrate departmental budget requests into formal grant seeking and vice versa.
* Oversees grant management processes, coordinating with staff from the Office of Data Strategy, Business Office, and Legal, to ensure compliance with grant requirements and internal processes.
* Develops, implements, and tracks departmental performance metrics, integrating them into Finance and Operation’s KPIs and CNM’s Strategic Direction.
* Coordinates an annual calendar of planned and ad-hoc grant development activities for the College.
* Disseminates grant development resources from local and national private funders and federal agencies to the College.
* Integrates Grants Management data and processes into the College’s Constituent Relationship Management database.
* Conducts research and supports the development of proposals for grant funding opportunities and other critical proposals.
* Conducts proactive outreach to the CNM community, including CNM Ingenuity and CNM Foundation, to determine current and future needs regarding key projects and critical proposals.
* Supports articulation of community needs to internal audiences and vice versa.
* Manages development of large-scale proposals across multiple CNM divisions/departments.
* Maintains relationships with local and national private funders and federal funders, including Program Officers and State officials.
* Develops letters of commitment for the President’s Office to support external partners in receiving grant funding.
* Supports College-wide critical proposals, including College Accreditation, technical assistance, and communities of practice opportunities.
