Position: Technical Evaluation Specialist with Security Clearance
We are seeking a highly skilled and mission-driven Technical Evaluation Specialist to support critical national security space initiatives.

This role offers the opportunity to work alongside a high-performing, multidisciplinary team advancing next-generation space and defense capabilities.
The Technical Evaluation Specialist will provide expert technical assessment and strategic guidance across space systems development efforts. The ideal candidate combines deep space systems engineering knowledge with government program management experience and the ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear, actionable direction for industry partners.
This position requires engagement across government, industry (traditional and nontraditional), and academic stakeholders to communicate mission priorities, acquisition strategies, and emerging capability needs in support of rapid space capability development.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct technical evaluations of proposed space technologies, architectures, and capabilities to assess mission alignment, technical maturity, and acquisition feasibility.

• Analyze spacecraft subsystems, launch architectures, ground systems, and space domain awareness capabilities in support of national security objectives.

• Translate operational mission priorities into clearly articulated technical requirements and evaluation criteria for industry partners.

• Provide strategic recommendations to senior government leadership to inform acquisition decisions and capability development pathways.

• Support market research efforts to identify innovative technology providers and emerging capabilities aligned to government space initiatives.

• Represent government space programs at public engagements, industry outreach events, technical forums, and acquisition workshops.

• Communicate mission needs, acquisition pathways (including OTA and rapid acquisition frameworks), and emerging technical requirements to diverse audiences.

• Facilitate collaboration among government stakeholders, program offices, and industry teams to accelerate mission-focused outcomes.

• Ensure alignment with applicable acquisition regulations, including FAR, DFARS, and AFFARS.

Required Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance with TS/SCI eligibility.

• Experience working in SAP and/or SCI environments within the last five years.

• 10+ years of relevant DoD experience, including at least 4 years supporting SAP and/or SCI programs within the last five years.

• Ability to consent to and successfully complete a Government Counterintelligence Scope Polygraph if required.

• Strong background in government program management.

• Demonstrated familiarity with FAR, DFARS, AFFARS, and rapid acquisition authorities.

• Working knowledge of Other Transaction Authority (OTA) agreements and alternative acquisition pathways.

• Proven ability to provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

• Experience supporting space and defense programs with an understanding of operational and mission-focused space capabilities.

• Comfortable representing programs in industry outreach, technical forums, and multi-stakeholder engagements.

• Experience developing and articulating program requirements aligned with government space initiatives.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex engineering concepts to varied audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Space Systems, Physics, Aerospace, or related field.

• Direct experience with national security space organizations (e.g., Space Force, SSC, SpRCO, NRO, SDA).

• Background in rapid prototyping, advanced technology maturation, or capability transition programs.

• Experience engaging nontraditional defense contractors and commercial space providers.
