Technical Support Assistant

Position Summary

The Office of the Vice President for Research - Main Campus is looking for a self‑motivated undergraduate student to join our technical team. The successful candidate will assist in supporting end users' requests for support with issues regarding computer hardware and/or software. Investigate, troubleshoot and follow‑up on users' requests. Perform computer imaging, setup, deployment, and inventory tasks as required.

Enrolled in a degree‑seeking program at UNM, enrolled at least half‑time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (audit hours do not count), and if work study, you must meet satisfactory academic progress.

• Can lift up to 25 lbs.
• Familiarity with operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS, Linux) and common software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, web browsers).
• Willing to perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
• Can work a minimum of 20 hours a week - schedules preferred.
• Ability to communicate technical guidance and instruction to end‑users.
• Ability to analyze and resolve computer problems.
• Ability to document work in progress.
• Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
• Students with 2-3 semesters at UNM are preferred.
