IT Support Tech 2
Position Summary:
The UNM Health and Health Sciences IT Department is looking for a full-time, experienced IT Support Tech 2 within the Technology Support group, that will provide IT support to specific departments with an executive level focus. This 100% on-site position primarily serves the Health Sciences Office of the Vice President at UNM North Campus, providing in-person support at the IT Service desk.
Additional tasks include Active Directory account management, workstation troubleshooting, diagnosis, hardware repair, workstation image deployment, encryption services, conference room AV support, and software support.
Responsibilities- Provide direct IT support to faculty and staff in the Office of Vice President on the UNM North Campus.
- Offer in-person customer support at the IT Service desk.
- Develop documentation of technology issues and assist in troubleshooting/resolution for Apple MacOS and Microsoft Windows hardware and software.
- Assist end users in understanding hardware and software components.
- Perform Active Directory account management.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose workstation issues, perform hardware repair, and deploy workstation images.
- Provide encryption services.
- Support conference room AV and software.
- Work closely with other health sciences IT groups to support enterprise-wide shared services.
High school diploma or GED; at least 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Higher education and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience providing outstanding customer service.
- Ability to communicate intermediate technical guidance and instruction to users on the use of PC.
- Experience performing moderately complex preventive maintenance on systems software, applications, hardware, networking and communications.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Knowledge of a wide range of computer systems software, applications, hardware, networking and communication.
- Knowledge and support of both Windows and MacOS computers, tablets and phones.
- Proficiency with Active Directory Account Management.
- Experience providing Windows and MacOS Workstation and Printer Support.
- Experience with conference Room AV Support.
- Specialty licensure/certification may be required, as specified by the department.
- Successful candidate may be subject to a criminal background check prior to starting work.
