Position Summary:

Responsible for preparing and baking all baked items while promoting and exhibiting World Class Guest Service to all the Isleta Resort and Casino employees and guests. Exhibit knowledge of product lines, prices and full awareness of Food Safety and Sanitation laws and regulations. Provides efficient and smooth customer service according to the standards required by the Isleta Resort and Casino.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Follows and initiates standard recipes though weighing, mixing, proofing, baking and finishing baked products.
• Demonstrates ability to learn advanced baking and cake decorating. Completes assigned tasks from start to finish.
• Bakes breads, cookies, pies and sets up finished items on a daily par or orders for the different restaurants on Isleta Resort and Casino.
• Maintains and rotates dated food stock.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary work environment by way of cleaning and wiping down workstation (s) and utensils before and after each assignment.
• Ability to follow recipes for mixing ingredients and baking goods.
• Maintains an open and welcoming attitude that promotes skill enhancement and learning.
• Greets internal and external guests, maintains a friendly and inviting atmosphere, and promotes positive guest relations through prompt, courteous, and efficient service.
• Occasionally performs other duties as assigned.

Accountability and Supervision:

• Must possess coordination and skill while utilizing kitchen tools and utensils, such as knives, food grater, food slicer, mixers, and any other tool needed to complete recipes.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma and/or General Educational Degree (GED) equivalent, Preferred.
• One (1) year baking experience, preferred.
• Must possess and maintain IHS Food Handlers Certification, required.

Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certification

• Must be able to acquire and maintain Non-Key Gaming License issued through POIGRA.
• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background investigation.
• Must be flexible with work schedule. Must be willing to work any days/hours as needed or required to meet business needs.
• Must maintain all Isleta Resort and Casino-wide educational and certification requirements.

• Must be able to perform basic mathematics to include, but is not limited to, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

• Must possess and exhibit a positive attitude towards internal and external guests at all times.

• Must be able to work a flexible and varying schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must possess working knowledge of and be able to adhere to all OSHA, First Aid Management, and HACCP standards and regulations.

• Must be able to learn to operate basic bakery equipment to include but is not limited to mixer, sheeter, oven, and proof boxes.
