Oak Street Health’s Graduate Behavioral Health Specialist Fellowship is a 12‑month, paid training program that equips participants with the skills, support, and knowledge needed to become a competent clinician for older adults.
Role DescriptionThis fellowship is embedded in our collaborative care model within a value‑based setting, rewarding quality of care over quantity. Fellows will spend time developing evidence‑based intervention skills, gaining knowledge of psychotropic medication use, earning clinical supervision hours from a licensed clinical social worker, and completing didactic coursework that builds upon graduate training. Graduates will join Oak Street for an additional 24 months after the fellowship, with the opportunity to continue advancing their careers at Oak Street nationwide.
Responsibilities- Receive clinical supervision from a licensed clinical social worker.
- Engage in detailed didactic training on evidence‑based therapeutic interventions.
- Develop competence in prescribing and managing psychotropic medications.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to provide high‑quality care to older adults.
- Contribute to population‑health initiatives focused on empirically guided outcomes.
- General passion for behavioral health.
- Supportive attitude toward older‑adult patient populations.
- Team‑oriented mindset and willingness to collaborate with peers.
- Interest in innovative, data‑driven population health models.
- Preferred: bilingual Spanish proficiency.
- Family, Adult, or Adult‑Gerontology Social Worker who has already graduated or will graduate from an approved training program.
- Willingness to work at the assigned location for the entire program duration.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 in the MSW program.
- Possession (or ability to obtain before program start) of a state‑licensed, non‑probationary lower‑level social work license.
- First‑round interviews will be conducted as applications are received.
- Second and third‑round interviews will be virtual or in‑person based on applicant preference.
- Final decisions will be communicated promptly after interviews conclude.
- Meet all admission requirements.
- Submit required attachments:
- Current CV detailing work history and social work internships.
- Completed application form.
- MSW diploma (if available).
- Unofficial graduate school transcript.
- Current social work license copy (if available).
- For non‑US residents: permanent resident card / visa / proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
