The position assists in the daily monitoring of residents, working closely with clinical, education, and other milieu staff. Duties may include but are not limited to developing life skills, recreation and social activities, and redirecting patient behavior.
How does it get done?Crisis Prevention Intervention and Trauma Informed Care are the cornerstone of treatment at Sequoyah Adolescent Treatment Center. De-escalation techniques and coping mechanisms are offered to residents; life skills are taught to assist with success upon discharge.
Who are the customers?The facility serves adolescent males age 13-17 with a history of violence and aggression.
Ideal Candidate- Experience working in a residential treatment facility
- Experience in a therapeutic milieu
- Experience in recovery-oriented and/or trauma-informed care environments
High School Diploma and one (1) year of experience pertaining to essential duties. Alternatively, a combination of accredited college education and direct experience totaling one (1) year may substitute.
Employment RequirementsMust possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation required and is conditional pending results.
Working ConditionsWork performed in an adolescent treatment center, with exposure to mentally and/or behaviorally challenged residents who may exhibit unpredictable behaviors. The position may involve office setting and related equipment, extensive personal computer and phone usage, pushing, pulling, lifting and/or carrying.
