Psychiatric / Behavioral Health Care

Position Summary

The Mental Health Technician MHT provides direct patient care. Assists in maintaining medical records, monitoring patient interactions and safety as well as clerical support, patient data collection and performing medical procedures under the direction of an RN utilizing knowledge of verbal and non-verbal communication skills to provide targeted therapeutic interventions with patients.

Posted Salary Range

USD $16.00 - USD $19.00 /Hr.

Wage Commensuration

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, education and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Mental Health Technician works in harmony with the nursing staff to provide care for our patients. In addition, the Mental Health Technician is responsible for:

  • Directing patient care
  • Assisting with maintaining medical records
  • Monitoring patient interactions and safety
  • Providing clerical support
  • Assisting in patient data collection
  • Performing medical procedures under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • High School diploma required
  • In general 1 yr. equivalent work experience in psychiatric/addictive disease treatment facility
  • Must be CPR certified
  • Must have a reliable source of transportation
