Compensation: $28.29/hr (minimum) – $42.43/hr (maximum). 17% shift differentials for weekday nights, 26% weekend nights, and 15% weekend day shifts.

Pulmonary Services. FTE: 0.90. Full Time. Shift: Nights.
Provide clinical respiratory care. Access, evaluate and recommend interventions to achieve specific patient outcomes. Operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment used in diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease. Ensure adherence to Hospital and Departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines. Patient care may include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups.
Detailed Responsibilities- Provide patient education and consultation on disease management.
- Ensure customer and patient satisfaction using scripted procedures.
- Administer respiratory therapy interventions including aerosolized medication, chest physiotherapy, intermittent positive pressure breathing, oxygen supplementation, pulmonary hygiene, artificial airway care, tracheostomy care, incentive spirometry, and non‑invasive and invasive procedures.
- Serve as a resource for certified respiratory therapy technicians and assistants.
- Assist healthcare team with mechanical ventilator management and monitoring. Follow weaning guidelines/protocols.
- Recommend ventilatory support modes to physicians and participate in critical‑care rounds and teaching.
- Participate in hospital CPR, trauma, and high‑risk labor and delivery teams, performing airway management and ventilatory support.
- Perform arterial puncture for blood gas analysis and interpret results.
- Provide therapy and ventilation recommendations based on lab results.
- Perform bedside pulmonary function tests and oximetry for arterial oxygen saturation.
- Receive and initiate physician orders for respiratory care.
- Administer and monitor medical gases and environmental control systems.
- Assist with facility maintenance and equipment label routing.
- Collaborate with healthcare team to implement and document care plans, including discharge plans.
- Follow patient safety policies and report safety concerns.

- Hospital respiratory therapy equipment operation and applications knowledge.
Credentials
- CPR for Healthcare/BLS Certified within 30 days.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification within 1 year.
- Respiratory Care Practitioner in NM.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist.
Physical Conditions
- Heavy work: exert 50–100 lb occasionally, 25–50 lb frequently, 10–20 lb constantly.
Working Conditions
- Moderate exposure to chemicals/dangerous equipment.
- May perform subordinate tasks in high census/volume.
- On‑call, rotating shifts, holidays, weekends.
- TB testing upon hire and as required.
