We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team! As a Medical Assistant, you will be preparing for each patient visit by preparing charts and pulling notes before their arrival, providing routine support alongside nurses and medical staff, and assisting with keeping track of tests and lab reporting to ensure everything arrives on time and the patient is kept informed on their condition and care.
You will also be helping manage the inventory of medical supplies, setting up machines and testing equipment, and cleaning instruments and rooms as needed. The ideal candidate has strong customer service skills, an interest in learning more about a working medical environment, and has previous office experience.
- Assist providers during patient examinations and medical procedures
- Take and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, etc.)
- Prepare exam rooms and sterilize medical instruments
- Educate patients on medications, treatments, and follow-up care
- Greet and check in patients, verify insurance, and update medical records
- Schedule appointments and coordinate referrals
- Handle incoming calls and assist with prescription refills
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
- Help maintain and update internal databases and routine correspondence
- Prepare and summarize reports for management as needed
- Contribute to a collaborative, respectful, and patient-centered environment
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (preferred)
- Certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred or required depending on state regulations
- Current CPR / BLS certification or willingness to obtain
- 12 years of experience in a clinical or healthcare setting
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner is a plus
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal & written)
- Organized, detail-oriented, and a team player
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information appropriately
- Willingness to participate in continuing education and in-service training
- Cooperative attitude with excellent time management and multitasking abilities
