Job DescriptionPresbyterian is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our healthcare team. As an RRT, you will play a crucial role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders. Your expertise and dedication will help improve patient outcomes and enhance their quality of life.
Responsibilities- Assists physicians with bronchoscopy procedures, monitoring and assessment of the level of consciousness, cardiovascular and pulmonary systems; delivers IV conscious sedation agents (opioids, benzodiazepines, sedative-hypnotics) and reversal agents.
- Initiates ventilator protocols; implements and coordinates ventilator management.
- Initiates and monitors high‑frequency ventilators.
- Performs advanced airway care including tracheotomy changes, extubation, and intubation.
- Initiates and monitors nitric oxide delivery.
- In NICU: performs surfactant delivery, intubation, and attends high‑risk deliveries.
- Optional procedures: transport team, intubation, backup charge therapist.
- Preceptor duties and career ladder program differential pay for advanced certifications (RPFT, CPFT, Perinatal Pediatric, ACCS, RPSGT, etc.).
- Performs department‑specific functions as detailed within the summary of the department‑specific duties.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC).
- Respiratory Care Practitioner – New Mexico.
- BLS certification.
- ACLS and/or PALS certification.
- Six months to one year of critical care experience preferred.
