Overview:

The Main Street Family Care Preceptorship Program is designed to provide aspiring healthcare professionals, specifically physician assistants, with hands-on experience and mentorship in a dynamic urgent care setting. This program aims to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical clinical skills, preparing individuals for successful careers in healthcare.

Program Highlights:
  • Duration: The preceptorship program typically spans a month or semester, offering participants a comprehensive understanding of urgent care operations.
  • Mentorship: Participants will work closely with experienced healthcare professionals who will serve as mentors, providing guidance and support throughout the program.
  • Clinical Exposure: Gain exposure to a wide range of patient cases, enhancing clinical skills and promoting critical thinking in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Engage with a collaborative healthcare team, including physicians, family nurse practitioners/physician assistants, medical assistants, and support staff.
Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited physician assistant program.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Desire to work in urgent care is preferred.
  • Have an active affiliation agreement.*
Application Process:
  • Submit a comprehensive resume and answer application questions.
  • Qualified candidates will be contacted for a brief phone screening to learn more about the program and ask questions.
  • Candidates will then schedule a 45-minute interview with our Clinic Management team.
  • If selected, we will attempt to match you with a qualified preceptor at a nearby clinic. You will be contacted with your placement details.
  • Receive a welcome letter and complete onboarding.
