The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a full-time Deputy Director of Operations, (NH-0301-IV) to work at Kirtland AFB, NM.
Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center (AFOTEC) in Albuquerque, NM is searching for a well-qualified candidate to fill the Deputy Director of Operations positions within the Operations Directorate. Member will serve as the Deputy Director of Operations for the Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center (AFOTEC). Responsible for directing the end-to-end Operational Test & Evaluation (OT&E) portfolio and acting as the commander's designated SAP Management Officer (SAPMO). As a second-level supervisor, provides executive leadership and shapes the strategic direction for a large, multi-disciplinary directorate of military, civilian, and contractor personnel.
Salary $107,446 - $139,684 (without locality)
Travel authorized up to 25%

- Employees must pass initial and periodic short-notice drug testing.
- Plans, organizes, and directs the activities for a large, multi-disciplinary directorate, developing and implementing the organization’s long-range vision and goals while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Develops long-range strategic plans, policies, and procedures for the OT&E portfolio that integrate objectives from AFOTEC, the Air Force, Sister Services, and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD).
- Represents the organization in senior-level forums, advising the Commander and other senior leaders on test programs, and chairs O-6 level meetings to guide Detachment and Headquarters leadership.
- Acts as the final authority within the directorate for resolving the most critical and complex work-related and administrative issues, particularly those with no clear precedent.
- Provides executive direction and oversight for all Special Access Program (SAP) activities, developing and implementing security policies and procedures and serving as the primary authority for resolving complex classification and declassification issues.
- Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities, including long-range workforce planning, performance evaluation of subordinate supervisors, and making authoritative decisions on organizational structure and resource allocation.

- Experience at the next lower broadband/grade level (or equivalent).
- An advanced Degree(s) such as a Master’s or Ph.D. is highly desired.
- Certificates (APDP Test & Evaluation Level
1) - 3-5 years’ experience requested.
- Expert knowledge of Major Command, Air Force, Sister Military Services, and/or DoD program goals, objectives, and the sequence and timing of key operational events and doctrine. Experience as a rated officer or rated enlisted operator is required.
