OPEN: 27 February, 2026 CLOSE: 13 March , 2026 Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) Nuclear Command, Control & Communications (NC3) Integration Directorate is seeking highly qualified Supervisory Acquisition Program Management Specialist (Deputy Division Chief) fill an NH-1101-04 position as the Configuration Management Lead and Operating Location Lead position supporting the Nuclear Deterrent Operations mission at Kirtland AFB, NM.
The NH-1101-04 position has a typical 2026 salary range of $127,141– $194,417. (locality included). Work is performed on-site at Kirtland AFB, NM.
- Exercise direct supervisory authority over all assigned military, civilian, and contractor personnel.
- Responsible for the full spectrum of Organize, Train, and Equip functions, including planning and prioritizing mission-critical tasks, evaluating personnel performance within the nuclear enterprise, and leading hiring actions to build a team with the requisite NC3 and weapon system expertise.
- Serve as the senior NC3 subject matter expert for leadership and program teams, providing guidance on the development, sustainment, and modernization of critical NC3 capabilities.
- Oversee the integration of systems supporting key stakeholders like USSTRATCOM and AFGSC, ensuring program health and alignment with strategic objectives.
- Provide confidential assessments and recommendations on program management and hiring to NCW Division leadership.
- Responsible for preparing and delivering executive-level briefings on the status, challenges, and accomplishments of the NC3 Weapon Systems Division (NCW) portfolio.
- Engage with executive-level government, military, and industry partners to advance the NC3 mission.
- Negotiate and resolve complex issues related to systems integration and modernization, advocating for directorate proposals and reporting progress on critical initiatives directly supporting the U.S. nuclear enterprise.
- Conduct and defend strategic analyses related to NC3 policies, processes, and mission compliance to the Program Director and other senior officials.
- Lead integrated working groups to address emergent technical and programmatic challenges and provide confidential assessments of acquisition personnel's competencies to ensure the NCW team is optimally staffed and aligned to deliver assured nuclear command and control capabilities.
- Comfortable partnering at all levels within the Department of Defense (DoD) and Senior Government leadership.
- Candidates should be well-versed in the NC3 & Nuclear Mission
- Comprehensive knowledge of laws, principles, policies, and practices of program management and Air Force acquisitions.
- Knowledge of the missions, roles, functions, and structure of DoD, Air Force, nuclear enterprise stakeholders and other entities that govern, interface with, and/or influence the systems acquisitions process.
- Knowledge and/or experience with NC3 systems, operations, or communications (highly desired).
- Supervisory experience Ability to plan, organize, and lead critical aspects of directorate wide efforts and integrate, analyze, and manage a variety of efforts and personnel in support of the process. Strong ability to communicate orally and in writing with clarity, conciseness, and technical accuracy, to include the ability to develop and deliver detailed briefings to Senior Leaders and Stakeholders.

- Employee is required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance.
- The employee must meet, or be capable of meeting, Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act requirements applicable to the duties of the position. This position requires Advanced Level Program management certification.
