Pretrial Electronic Monitoring & Supervision Officer #, Full-Time, Term, Albuquerque, NM

New Mexico Courts is seeking a full‑time, term Pretrial Electronic Monitoring & Supervision Officer. The selected candidate will work in the Electronic Monitoring and Supervision (EMS) Unit, responding to GPS alerts and ensuring compliance with court‑ordered conditions.

- Target Pay Range: $28.240 per hour or $58,739 annually

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate electronic monitoring alerts to determine violations and take appropriate action, including arrest warrants and notifications to justice partners.
  • Monitor defendants to ensure compliance with pretrial release conditions.
  • Provide written notifications to local courts, assigned Pretrial Officer, and other criminal‑justice partners regarding violations.
  • Research defendants’ release conditions to confirm violations.
  • Prepare detailed written reports for bench warrant requests.
  • Communicate with local courts, pretrial programs, and attorneys.
  • Document all interactions in the case‑management system.
  • Collaborate with the local pretrial program(s).
  • Support the local pretrial program by initiating and closing cases in Odyssey Supervision Module (OMS) and assisting with audits of data entry.
  • Compile and report statistical data.
  • Leverage new technologies to enhance pretrial supervision.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Competencies & Qualifications

The successful applicant should possess knowledge of legal and evidence‑based pretrial supervision, electronic monitoring technology, court processes and rules, bond/bail and release from detention laws, NM civil and criminal procedure, legal terminology, and investigative techniques.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Work is performed in an office or court setting. A valid driver’s license and travel may be required. The schedule may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime. Positive interaction with co‑workers, clients, judges, and the public is essential.

Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, social sciences, or a related field from an accredited college or university, or four (4) years of directly related experience as a substitution.
  • Experience:

    One (1) year in criminal justice, social services, probation, corrections, or related field.
  • Other:
    Must obtain and maintain National Crime Information Center (NCIC) certification within six (6) months of hire.
