Position SummaryPerforms a variety of routine day-to-day operations related to ledger entries, account reconciliation, and other accounting and office duties.
Responsibilities- Journal entry preparation and entry
- Processing and batching high volume of cash receipts and bank deposits
- Enter cash transactions in ledger and reconcile cash reports
- Preparation of spreadsheets for financial analysis
- Data entry into Banner and nonprofit ledger software
- Running queries for reports
- Printing Hyperion reports and querying Banner
- Ensures strict confidentiality of financial records, in compliance with federal and state patient privacy legislation
- Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
- Freshman/Sophomore students preferred
- Current UNM student enrolled for a minimum of 6 credit hours
- Major or coursework in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Basic understanding of accounting/financial principles
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Clear and friendly communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to take initiative and help problem-solve when needed
- Comfort with basic computer programs (Microsoft Office, email, etc.)
