Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), Space Mission Systems (SMS) Division, is seeking a qualified Senior System Architect/Model Based Systems Engineer to join the Space Systems Engineering team in Albuquerque, NM
. Our team works with Government and Proprietary Customers in the development and deployment of next-generation technologies. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to provide high‑impact, creative solutions to complex technical problems, the ability to work as part of a large team, and the ability to provide critical support and independent review of the work of teammates.
Position Responsibilities- Work collaboratively with a multi‑discipline team to decompose system requirements into functional and logical architectures and allocate logical architecture to physical implementation.
- Capture system requirements traceability within the system architecture model.
- Apply model‑based system engineering (MBSE) methodology to develop system architectural views using Systems Modeling Language (SysML).
- Analyze MBSE models to derive system Con Ops through use of mission threads and use case scenario analyses.
- Utilize the system architecture model in support of systems engineering milestone reviews such as SRR, SDR, PDR, CDR, etc.
- Ensure that system models are compliant to a standard outlined by the Customer approved style guide and the internal systems architecture/MBSE development plan.
- Review and translate Customer reference architecture model to internal architecture model.
- Provide input to continuously improve MBSE training, processes, and tools.
- Mentor systems engineers in MBSE processes and tools.
- Foster strong customer relationships.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non‑US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
- 5+ years of experience in systems integration with systems engineering processes and procedures.
- 5+ years of experience creating MBSE systems models in Cameo, Magic Systems of Systems Architect (MSOSA), or similar software.
- Experience with Systems Modeling Language (SysML).
- Experience in CONOPS development, trade studies, and requirements/interface definitions.
- Experience implementing model‑based approaches on engineering projects/programs, ensuring seamless integration of delivered models within the receiving architecture and digital engineering platform.
- Experience applying and teaching systems engineering processes and principles.
- Experience/domain knowledge of system architecture, requirements, interface definition, verification, and validation.
- Experience with complex systems development and integration.
- Experience modeling or simulating complex systems.
- Experience with implementation and maintenance of systems engineering tools, schedules and metrics (i.e. Earned value management, DOORs, CAMEO).
- Understanding of statistical analysis, distributions, and sampling.
