Lead Spacecraft Systems Engineer

Job Summary

Our client, a leader in the aerospace industry is looking for a Lead Spacecraft Systems Engineer. Key qualifications include Minimum of 10 years of experience in space and aerospace systems, with a focus on systems integration and engineering. A Bachelor's degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.

• Primary Technical Authority:
  Serve as the lead expert for the entire spacecraft system, overseeing the technical quality of all segments including ground, launch, and space assets.
• End-to-End Mission Oversight:
  Drive the full mission lifecycle—from developing architecture and CONOPS (Concept of Operations) to managing assembly, integration, test (AI&T), launch, and on-orbit operations.
• Multidisciplinary
  
  Collaboration:
  
  Lead a diverse team of mechanical, electrical, and propulsion engineers to ensure interface consistency, curate system requirements, and manage verification plans.
• Strategic Risk & Design Management:
  Lead technical design trades, enforce configuration control, and identify/mitigate technical risks in alignment with the program's specific risk posture.
• Team Leadership & Mentorship:
  Manage and hold the systems engineering team accountable while providing high-level technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers in a fast-paced, agile environment.
