Position OverviewThe L2 / L3 Commissioning Superintendent is responsible for leading and coordinating Level 2 and Level 3 commissioning activities on large‑scale data center construction projects. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that electrical systems and equipment are properly installed, verified, safely energized, and ready for functional testing. L2 commissioning focuses on installation verification and readiness, while L3 commissioning focuses on initial startup, energization, and pre‑functional testing of individual components.
Together, these phases reduce risk, protect critical equipment, and ensure systems are safely prepared for full integrated commissioning. This position is ideal for a hands‑on field leader with a strong electrical background and prior data center commissioning experience who can drive execution, enforce quality and safety standards, and coordinate closely with construction, commissioning agents, and trade partners.

- Maintain accurate records of L2/L3 completion status and system readiness.
- Enforce strict electrical safety practices during energization and startup activities.
- Lead by example in maintaining a strong safety culture on site.
- Participate in job hazard analyses, safety walks, and energization planning meetings.
- Communicate clearly with project leadership, commissioning agents, inspectors, and trade partners regarding system status, risks, and next steps.
- Assist with coordination between construction completion and commissioning handoff.
- Provide field‑level insight to help maintain schedule alignment and reduce commissioning delays.
- Strong electrical background with experience supporting commissioning activities on complex projects.
- Prior experience with L2 and L3 commissioning in data center or mission‑critical environments.
- Solid understanding of electrical installation verification, energization, and startup processes.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, single‑line diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Experience coordinating with commissioning agents, electrical contractors, and project teams.
- Strong organizational and communication skills in fast‑paced, high‑risk environments.
