Construction Observer - CONABQ

Job Summary

Bohannan Huston is currently seeking a full-time experienced Construction Observer to join our Construction Engineering Group for projects in Albuquerque and statewide.

As a Construction Observer in our Construction Engineering Group, you will be tasked with representing the project Owner during construction on the project site, and you would likely be involved in numerous tasks that include providing daily construction observation of the construction contractor's work to determine it is being constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications. Other responsibilities include writing daily field reports, tracking material quantities, interpret plans and specifications, maintain a red line set of construction drawings, assist contractor on RFI's, review material submittals, field testing of materials, and other miscellaneous tasks associated with construction inspection.

WHO YOU ARE

• You have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants must hold a valid New Mexico driver's license, and must be insurable to drive a company vehicle.
• You have 3+ years of experience in utilities, roadways and bridges, or industrial facilities construction observation or construction management.
• You have or are able to obtain your certification in operating a Portable Material Densometer.
• You have the ability to retrieve construction material samples.
• You have written and oral communication skills, computer skills (Word and Excel).
• You have the ability to track unit price quantities, read plans, and understand standard specifications.
• You are determined, organized, and detail oriented.
• You are customer focused.
• Construction materials laboratory testing experience is preferred.
