Position Summary
The Department of Film and Digital Arts part-time, on-call Instructional Assistants work a maximum of ten hours per week supporting in-person classes. Successful candidates will have a solid knowledge of film history, criticism, and theory. Duties include such tasks as assisting with class preparation and commenting upon students' homework, quizzes, and exams in some courses, or providing technical assistance in others.
Serving as a writing or filmmaking mentor, the IA may also employ experience in the cinematic arts to enhance student learning in small group discussions.
- Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
- All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the CWA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications- Record of working with university film and digital arts faculty
- Excellent academic background in film or related arts
- Bachelor's Degree related to film and digital arts
- A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities
