Temp Part-time Faculty in Physical Education Non-Professional (PENP) Program
The Physical Education Non-Professional (PENP) program in the Department of Health, Exercise, and Sports Sciences at UNM is seeking candidates for temporary, part-time faculty positions to teach undergraduate courses related to physical activity, exercise, and wellness. This posting remains open, and applicants will be considered as needed each semester. Some specialized courses include group fitness classes such as Dance, Zumba, Volleyball, Yoga, Tai Chi, Conditioning, Martial Arts, Running, Outdoor Experience, Basketball, Swimming, Rock Climbing, and Pilates.
Candidates should specify their area of expertise in their cover letter and may suggest new courses if their credentials support it.
This is a continuous posting for the Fall 2025, Spring 2026, and Summer 2026 semesters. For best consideration, apply by:
- August 1, 2025, for Fall Semester 2025
- September 12, 2025, for Spring Semester 2026
- February 2, 2026, for Summer Semester 2026
Minimum Qualifications: Extensive knowledge, skills, and abilities in the area of expertise, along with leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, exercise science, fitness management, or a related field. Appropriate activity certification as needed (see application instructions). American Red Cross CPR/Basic Life Support certification (can be earned within 30 days of employment). Teaching experience is preferred. A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, working with diverse communities.
