Temp Parttime Faculty - Yoga Instructor

The UNM Department of Holistic Health and Healing Arts invites applicants to apply for a Temporary Part-Time Faculty (Adjunct) member to teach one of the following subject areas for Fall 2026. This posting is primarily for face-to-face instruction and potentially some remote delivery of courses.
These positions will be hired on an as-needed basis dependent on student enrollment, course offering matrix, and graduation requirements. The specific courses include, but are not limited to, the following:
- HHHA 1131:
The class will prepare future yoga teachers and/or interested yoga students to design classes for themselves and others that safely accommodate many underlying injuries and conditions, observing, in the process, that a class that accommodates students with underlying conditions is a class for everyone. Often offered in Fall semester.
We propose a base salary of $1,135.26 to $1,227.89 per credit hour depending on successful candidates’ qualifications. This posting is for primarily face to face and with a potential of remote delivery of courses.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in the discipline or subfield; or Successful completion of at least 18 graduate credit hours in an accredited program in the discipline or subfield; or Ability to demonstrate tested experience that the Integrative Health & Medical Massage has determined to be equivalent to a degree in the discipline or subfield.
- Yoga teacher training in the discipline or subfield in which they are applying to teach. Applicant must have completed a program of study in the discipline or subfield in which they teach, with coursework at least one level above that of the courses being taught or developed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Some form of body work certification (e.g. Massage Therapist) that lends itself towards a deeper understanding of the principles of alignment and form that are being discussed for this course.
- Demonstrated experience in remote delivery of instruction.
- At least 5 years’ experience with yoga teaching.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
