LOCATION: Albuquerque High School
WEEKLY HOURS - .5 COURSE CREDIT: No more than 10 hours per week. No more than 6 hours per day plus complete a self-reflection project and present it during the last week of the internship. Currently a 1-2 semester limit.
HOURLY PAY: $15/hr stipend (No taxes withheld)
WHEN WORK HAPPENS: Monday through Friday 8:00AM - 3:00PM unless instructed differently by your SEL Teacher/Advisor/Mentor Contact Name above.

Summary Of Position
- Students selected for this position will manage the DECA snack bar at Albuquerque High School and be responsible for the following tasks
- Responsible for scheduling student shifts to maintain appropriate coverage for lunch and after school activities
- Responsible for ordering stock from vendors as needed
- Will do basic accounting to include daily deposits, balancing vendor accounts, ensuring vendor bills are paid
- Supervise students while working in Snack Bar
- Balancing cash drawers
- Serving student bodies and customers of school-based enterprise which includes students, staff and community members
- Marketing activities to include promotion of special events, new products and updated menus ○ Serve as role model for Fundamentals of Marketing students
- Must meet health department guidelines and hold a NM Food Handlers Card
- Enrolled in High School or GED
- Have completed Fundamentals of Marketing and Business Management
- Recommendation from Business Management teacher or DECA Advisor
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Organized student with a positive attitude, curiosity, and willingness to learn
- Attention to work rules and deadline
We will teach you basic accounting principles, general scheduling and supervisory skills, and customer service skills including conflict resolution.

Please speak to your SEL Teacher/Advisor/Mentor regarding working and physical conditions at your intern site. You will also be required to sign and upload W-9 and Parental Permission forms. In addition you will be required to electronically acknowledge Non-Disclosure and Internship agreements.
As part of your application, you will be expected to fill out your emergency contact information, school and other personal information as required by Albuquerque Public Schools Work-Based Learning programs and the New Mexico Public Education Department. Failure to do so or omission or erroneous information will result in your application to be rejected.
